Karen works intuitively from her garden studio surrounded by nature, aligning her senses, encouraging creativity to flow. Her processes are slow and mindful, with ideas often led by found colour and materials, sustainability at the heart of her creations.

Constantly inspired by her daily surroundings of the Cornish coast and landscape, Karen is drawn to textures incorporating layers to create tactile original pieces of abstract art alongside prints derived from nature. Age old processes including cyanotype, felting, hand stitch and knitting overlap with a contemporary twist often intertwined through collage.

Alongside her studio practice she is studying part time for a BA in Textile Design, allowing her to be experimental, questioning process and pushing the boundaries as to what is considered a material and thread, with work forever evolving.
